Product Description
From our first store in Seattle’s Pike Place Market to our coffeehouses around the world, customers requested a freshly brewed coffee they could enjoy throughout the day. So in 2008, our master blenders and roasters worked together with customers to create it for you. The result was Pike Place Roast, a blend so consistent and harmonious that no single characteristic dominates—or disappears. Pike Place is a registered trademark of The Pike Place Market PDA, used under license.

dispenser that is shown to hold the packets. The 50 packets do not come with that.
At least the Pike Roast does not.
They are just loose packets in a box.
I stood my packets in a "tall-ish" Pretty coffee mug on my countertop and it looks great
The packets are so handy. As recommended I did count them and mine was 50...so it's All good and
I will definitely order again.
They come loose in a large box, no organization, so I carefully counted thru them into small ziplock bags. Filled 4 bags of ten and have 7 left over. Reviewed it several times. It's just 3 packets. Still.
No beans to grind, no coffee pot to clean, and no basket liners to buy. Just good coffee.
I have added these to my Subscribe and Save orders.
It’s a daily routine! In summer, add ice and sugar. Very easy!
My only complaint is that I ordered a bulk pack of 50, delivered on November 21, 2022, and the best by date is January 1, 2023.
I am not overly concerned, I am sure it will be fine, but I paid full price for a bulk (50) product that has a best by date 40 days out.
This proprietor got my coffee to me quickly. I'm very pleased. I love going to a Star Buck's for a latte but, I've saved a LOT of money making them myself at home. On occasion we go out to a Starbucks, it's treat!
Like many others, the individual packets were tossed in a generic box (not a dispenser box). I really don’t care about that. I like these for convenience when I travel. The expiration date is November 2022. Not great, but not bad either. It’s the bugs for me… I don’t care that the coffee is individually packaged, that box was in my house, and when I tell you at least a dozen insects crawled out of there when I dumped the box out, I’m not joking. A few stragglers stayed around by the time I ran back with my phone/camera. Just gross.
In my comparison of five brands, I used one teaspoon of instant and ¾ cup of hot water in each brand, kept it just black, and tasted it hot. Next, I added one teaspoon of heavy cream and 10 drops of Sweet Leaf brand vanilla-flavored extract and tasted it hot. Then, I waited until it cooled to room temp and tasted it again. Here are my personal findings with 5 being “worst”:
5. Waka Decaf – Slightly sour and brackish, tastes “instant” and gets worse as it cools. An absolute “no.” (1 packet per 8-10 oz.)
4. Jacobs Espresso – Watery, thin, and so “smooth” as to be tasteless, and they have the nerve to call this “espresso”? (No English instructions I could find—I guess they didn’t think it was worth the bother—and they’re probably right.)
3. Mt. Hagen Espresso – Also too smooth and lacking in taste, but has a wee more grunt and flavour than Jacobs. (1 packet per cup—I assume they mean 8 oz.)
2. Café Bustelo Espresso – Definitely better than the others but still “middle of the road” when it comes to true bean flavour. At least it tastes like coffee, even when cool.
1. Via Decaf Italian – IF you mix as instructed (1 packet per 8 oz.), it's too strong and has a slightly burnt taste . However, you can make a perfect travel mug of coffee by adding 16-20 ounces of hot water instead and just one packet of this very robust, powerful instant that actually tastes brewed. You also get two times more coffee for the money, via Via, because the packet makes such strong coffee.
My tastebuds have failed to escape the Starbucks czar with this test, so maybe I should give those Fifties store brands another go.
